Time to recover. Play our best side from fit players. Choose them now and use the 2 practice matches so that they can find form. Here's my team:
1. Andrew Strauss
2. Ian Bell
3. Ed Joyce
4. Paul Collingwood
5. Kevin Pietersen
6. Andrew Flintoff
7. Sajid Mahmood
8. Chris Read
9. Matthew Hoggard
10. Monty Panasar
11. Steve Harmison
There are a few that don't merit their inclusion despite the fact that they are world class. However, without the likes of MV & SJ we must go with what we have.

You are being harsh on Cook leaving him out. Bell was just as much a failure in 2005. Like Bell, Cook will come good. He is also a prospect for the future in a way that Joyce can never be.
KP simply must grow up and bat at 4. That is where the best bat should be, and while he refuses to step up he undlerlines the whole attitude of the team.
I am no expert on keeping, so I make no comment on Reid over Jones.
Most importantly, Fletcher must change his attitude - we must bowl to 4, rather than bat to eight. Stop worrying how many runs we can score and worry about how few runs we can give them.
It just isn't rocket science.
Why has no-one called for Flintoff's head? I thought someone would by now.
Most important selection issue for Perth is to give the Captaincy to Strauss. This will release Flintoff to restore his pride and force Strauss to bloody well pull his weight.
I pity Panesar. He must now come into the team with monstrous expectations on his performance and ability.
He is not a limelight, pressure cooker player.
Flintoff, Fletcher and Giles have put him in a nightmare position and I feel for him.
Even now, I don't think Fletcher is even contemplating leaving Giles out!!
Fletcher is an odd man...I think he should go too...I agreed that Monty will have expectations...and with regard to Fredie's head I see the BBC have run a line this evening saying about the pressure he must be under and how we should feel sorry for him. I love Freddie and he wins matches for us...but its time to step down and let Strauss step up to the plate
The best bat goes in at three. And please promise me you guys will play Sajid Mahmood. I only saw him in the PM's XI game, but he makes Harmison look like a model of line and length from what I can tell.
Scott...you cynicism is impressive! Mahmood can bowl and he can get it right up there into the ribs of Hayden! However, that said he can be wayward but I am quite sure he will rise to the occasion.
